Becca Postma

Guest Artist, Arapahoe Libraries

Becca is a Programming Specialist with Arapahoe Libraries where she leads monthly theater workshops.  During her time in the Denver area, she has guest taught with Curious Theatre Company, Englewood Summer Drama Program, Rocky Mountain Theatre for Kids, and the Actors Academy for the Performing Arts in both Denver and Boulder.  After graduating from CU Boulder with degrees in English, Theatre Performance, and Secondary Education, she taught Drama at Abraham Lincoln High School for several years.  During that time, she was a founding member of the Colorado Alliance of Technical Theatre Educators (CATTE). She holds a Masters in Arts Leadership and Cultural Management from Colorado State University.

    Shakespeare Crash Course

    Tromping the boards with the Bard can be intimidating. In this crash course, learn basic Shakespearean acting techniques from movement to breaking down the language. We'll have some fun with Shakespearean insults, interpret lines for their modern meanings, and perform a Shakespeare scene with ease! With presenters Becca Postma and Natalie Kuypers from Arapahoe Libraries.

    Step Up for Step In Time! Learning Tap

    Come join us for an introduction to some basic tap dance steps! We will talk about DIY alternatives to tap shoes and a bit about how tap can be integrated with Musical Theater and Broadway style dance. Put your stepping to the test by learning a routine for a dance break in the song "Step In Time" from Broadway hit "Mary Poppins." All skill levels welcome.
