Dr. Cody Clayton Gardner is a Denver-based Actor and Doctor of Physical Therapy specializing in the treatment of performing artists. This is neither Dr. Cody’s first, nor even fourth Colorado Thespian Convention–Dr. Cody was an annual participant when he attended Mountain Range High School in Westminster, Colorado. Dr. Cody began his arts education in middle and high school, where he cultivated skillsets in musical theatre acting, jazz alto saxophone, singing, and dancing hip-hop and musical theatre jazz.

Dr. Cody continued his studies at Texas Christian University (B.S. Movement Science, Minor in Child Development), where he participated in multiple university vocal ensembles, held officer positions in the Delta Mu Chapter of national social music fraternity Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, and continued instruction in hip-hop, country swing, and Latin dance. He then completed his Doctorate of Physical Therapy at Washington University in St. Louis School of Medicine, where he performed in and directed multiple productions at the WashU Med School Musical Company.

Following graduation, Dr. Cody traveled North America for a year and a half with the National Tour of Disney’s The Lion King as the company health provider, providing prevention, wellness education, first response, and rehabilitation to cast, crew, orchestra, and management.

Currently, Dr. Cody owns his own performing arts wellness company, SYZYGY Movement Solutions, where he allies and collaborates with venues, theatre companies, schools, studios, and individuals to educate, treat, empower, and prevent injury in performing artists, including actors, dancers, instrumentalists, vocalists, and aerialists. Moreover, Dr. Cody is a Guest Artist and Instructor at Denver School of the Arts teaching both acting technique and wellness; he actively pursues his craft in local theatre, film, television, and voice-over projects; and he writes scripts as in addition to wellness books, several of which are cresting the horizon!
