Kathy Morath
Guest Artist, AMDA College & Conservatory of the Performing Arts
Kathy Morath is a Broadway actor, director and educator, specializing in Musical Theatre Performance and Musical Theatre History. She is currently a faculty member at AMDA in New York City. A 25-year veteran of Broadway, off-Broadway and Regional Theatre, Ms. Morath has also directed for the stage and served as Dialogue Coach for PBS-TV’s Peaboy Award winning series, WISHBONE. Ms. Morath also teaches American Musical Theatre abroad, through her company Sing Smart Act Smart, most recently in Los Cabos, Mexico and Buenos Aires, Argentina. A former Peer Reviewer for The National Endowment for the Arts and member of the ASCAP/BMI Workshop and The Dramatist’s Guild, Ms. Morath is a Colorado native and Brown University Graduate

VIEWPOINTS FOR PERFORMERS: Creative physical solutions to staging & text interpretation. Using the seven Viewpoints, as codified by theatre artist Anne Bogart, we will explore space, tempo, architecture, duration and other applications for total immersion in physical reality. By utilizing new tools for exploration and “group mind” activity, fresh perspective and process will help young performers find creative solutions to theatrical challenges in acting, singing, and dance applications.
