Presenter Profile

Lauren Sagendorph

Guest Artist, Theatre Meets Yoga

Lauren Sagendorph is a performer, educator, and yoga instructor in Boulder, CO. Lauren received her BA in Theatre and Drama from Indiana University in 2016, and is currently an MFA Candidate in Contemporary Performance at Naropa University. She is passionate about movement and believes that movement and presence are the key to a good performance. In her many years of theatre training, Lauren noticed that the yoga and theatre communities seemed to run parallel to one another but hardly merged in either circle. She received her yoga teaching training (RYT 200Hr) in 2017 from Breathe for Change to help bridge this gap. Since then, she has done extensive research on this field, developing her MFA Thesis on Yoga and Theatre integration, and has taught yoga combined with theatre techniques which encourages creative youth to be successful, aware, curious, and grounded.
