Mandy Heath

Guest Artist, MSU Denver

Mandy Kay Heath is a Lighting designer new to Colorado from Memphis, TN. She earned an MFA from the University of Memphis. She has designed and worked for several theatres throughout the Colorado and the Mid South including Creede Repertory Theatre, Lake Dillon Theatre Company, Thingamajig, Theatre Memphis, Hattiloo Theatre, Opera Memphis, and Tennessee Shakespeare Company. Mandy has a passion for hands-on learning in educational settings or community theatre as well as interests in arts and non-profit administration. She is the current Lighting Designer and Lighting and Technology Manager for MSU Denver. Recent awards include Tennessee Arts Commission Individual Artist Fellowship, AACT “Best of the Decade” National Design Competition – Honorable Mention Lighting Design, Memphis Ostrander Excellence in Lighting Design for a Musical, and Memphis Ostrander Excellence in Lighting Design for a play.

    I will bring in lighting devices and demonstrate lighting color theory on Pictures and painted blocks. This will be a lesson in the science of how we see color and how we can manipulate that on stage.
