Maya Osterman-Van Grack
Guest Artist, Mirror Image Arts
An applied theatre practitioner for the past 12 years, Maya explores how the power of Theatre and Education can facilitate transformation on all levels. Upon receiving her BFA in Theatre Performance from the University of Colorado, Maya was the Assistant Director for the Interactive Theatre Project housed on the University of Colorado – Boulder campus. She then created the ACTivism Theatre Ensemble, a company of high school and college students performing educational outreach/prevention scenes for The SAVA (Sexual Assault Victim Advocacy) Center. While living in North Carolina she worked for Interactive Theatre Carolina at the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill. At that time she also founded Restorative Theatre – using theatre in juvenile detention centers. Upon her return to Colorado she continued Restorative Theatre through the Colorado Division of Youth Systems. Maya joined Mirror Image Arts in 2015.

Explore the powerful work of Theatre of the Oppressed - a style of Theatre used in non-traditional spaces as a tool to engage in meaningful dialogue and inspire action around social justice issues.
This workshop demo's an interactive class of a devising style created by miARTS inspired by the Theatre of the Oppressed methodology based on personal storytelling.
Mirror Image Arts works in schools, recreation centers, libraries, and juvenile detention centers with youth 7-21 years old.
