Robert Laconi

Guest Artist, Independent Theatre Artist

Robert Laconi has worked in theater, film, radio, television, and children’s theater, as actor, director, manager, adjudicator, and producer with credits ranging from Broadway to Community Theatre.  In NYC he created Theatre Arts Center NY where hundreds of talented students have learned and performed and where he collaborated with over 55 Broadway Artists.  Directing credits include 15 years of productions in NYC and many shows and plays at several theatres in Bucks County PA.  On Broadway, he was Director of Development at Circle in the Square and was Associate to the Producer on the Tony nominated play, Enchanted April.  He has recently adjudicated and/or been a Guest Teaching Artist at several state Thespian Festivals, including Florida, Texas, Georgia, Pennsylvania, and the International Festival in Nebraska  As an actor, Robert has worked at several Off-Broadway theaters, including the internationally acclaimed LaMama Theatre, Playwrights Horizon, Odyssey Theater, All Souls Players, Theatre for a New City, Circle in the Square, and others.  In Regional Theatre, he has appeared in roles musical, comedic, and dramatic at Tibbits Opera House, Porthouse Summer Theater, Pennsylvania Stage, Weathervane Playhouse, Bear Creek Dinner Theatre, and Gateway Playhouse.  While living in Italy, Robert worked with the American Theatre Company of Rome.  Screen appearances include Scorsese’s The Last Temptation of Christ, Goodfella’s, Night of the Zombies, & a singer/dancer in Annie.  He holds a BFA in Theater and Acting from Kent State University with post graduate work at Fordham University School of Education.  Robert has also trained at HB Studios, Playwrights Horizons (directing), American Academy of Dramatic Arts, the National Theatre of Great Britain, Ensemble Studio Theatre, and privately with Julie Bovasso, Rina Yerulshalmi, Jane Hoffman, and Karen Kohlhaas.  He is a member of the Screen Actors Guild / AFTRA and Actors Equity.
