Create Your Own Adventure (devised work beginning toolbox)
Beginning, , / Acting, , , , , / Regular
There is continual, growing interest in devised work, and particularly how to expand the "toolbox" for both educators and students in this area. A hands on workshop, participants are taken through an ensemble based process including Tadashi Suzuki/Viewpoints based moment techniques, Liz Lerman and Viola Spolin based improvisation, and prompted writing exercises. The participants can explore using these techniques to create a movement based ensemble piece, a new character based solo work, or a more personal, reflective process. These exercises will culminate in participants sharing a short devised sketch. This workshop is accessible to those looking to explore techniques in devising to aid in creating both solo and ensemble new work.
