Let’s be honest...every musical is based on a time period and is a reflection of the culture and dance styles of that period which as aspiring musical theater professionals/students, we need to know our dance decades and the movement that revolutionized the industry at that time. What better decades to time travel back to than the ones that started it all - the 1920’s, 1930’s and 1940’s. Individuals will dance through the iconic and renowned swing and jazz dance decades to learn where these most iconic movements all began and how these decades truly revolutionized the musical theater industry we know today! In this fun, lively classic Broadway-style Swing Jazz workshop, dancers will learn fundamental swing dancing and jitterbug movements iconic for this era. Dancers will then put their knowledge and skills to the test to learn a fast-paced, energetic choreography to “Putting On The Ritz”. So, swing on down to “Dancing Through the Decades” for a jazzy and good ole time!
