Physical Storytelling – Clowning
Beginning, Intermediate / ActingPresented by Justin Walvoord
Red noses and large shoes are only a small part of clowning, and this workshop will examine the various types of clowns and the resulting variety of both comedic and dramatic of their physicality. The workshop is led by gifted and experienced, physical theatre artist, Justin Walvoord, who is well-versed in classic clowning routines, bringing you into fast paced, story-based scenarios. Clowning, like dance, activates even more of the actor’s instrument, placing an emphasis on the physical rather than intellectual needs of performance. This workshop is designed for all levels . . . all the better if you do not see yourself as physical or coordinated. Get ready to move and create because it is time to invite your own inner clown to come out and play!
